Jordan Wannemacher is a book designer living and working in the great city of New York. Born and art school educated in the Southeast, she graduated magna cum laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design where she focused on graphic design and creative writing.
Currently, she is a Designer at Columbia University Press. She also freelances for Flatiron Books, FSG, Bellevue Literary Press, Wisdom Publications, NYU Press, Fordham University Press, and Stanford University Press.
Jordan is the recipient of several design awards, including cover and interior design awards in the New York Book Show and the 50 Books/50 Covers award. 50 Books/50 covers is the oldest continuously operating graphic design competition in the United States.
In her free time, Jordan reads as many short stories as possible, practices yoga regularly, volunteers as an English language partner in ESL classes, and scopes out live music around the city.
She loves Radiohead, Flannery O'Conner, Japanese food, type design, fancy soaps, and the color green.
